Growing up in the 2000s and 2010s, Lady Gaga was at the forefront of musical innovation, with her outrageous fashion and versatility remaining a key figure in the creative sphere to this present day. She honestly has too many accomplishments to mention, and I haven't even talked about her current acting career. She's a modern-day David Bowie!

The House of Gucci star has cited hot yoga as a part of her routine, starting classes way back in 2004.

14. Robert Downey Jr.

American actor and producer

The 56-year-old actor is best known for his starring role as Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but things didn't always seem so solid. Get it, like metal? Before becoming a superhero, Downey Jr. suffered from drug addiction but was able to kick his bad habits through activities such as yoga and his mentor Vinnie Marino, who also overcame his fight with addiction to become a popular yoga teacher in LA. He has been drug-free since July 2003. Robert also partook in therapy, meditation, and Wing Chun Kung fu to help him accomplish this.

It's sad to know that we will no longer see Downey Jr. gracing our screen as the iron-clad superhero, but I am glad that he can serve as an inspiration for others dealing with their addictions.

"One of the most helpful stress-releasing practices for me is yoga. To me, it's a physical form of meditation that allows me to move negative energy out of my body. Whatever type of yoga I practice, focusing on my breath and really feeling my body as I flow through and hold poses really centres me. It's like the stress just lifts right out of me."

Adam has been vocal about his love of yoga and posts regular photos of himself holding poses and stretching. In a previous Facebook post, he wrote:

"I won’t get too #Namaste on you. But I will say that I feel so fortunate to have found Yoga. The practice is so different deeply personal for any individual that I've been somewhat hesitant to share what it is to me. However, this time around, I thought I’d offer it up to whoever is listening. It has had such a profoundly positive impact on my life over the years. I have never been pretzel-ish or particularly flexible. And my practice is riddled with mistakes and imperfections. Which is precisely what makes it so powerful. Striving to do better while simultaneously remaining satisfied with where I am. It’s much larger than I am. I just tag along for the ride. Pretty cool. So...thanks Yoga. You’re awesome."

Delevinge decided to start yoga as a non-pharmaceutical method to deal with depression. She said in an interview with Elle Magazine:

"For me, yoga's the only way I can really feel things and check how I am. Because there is always pain somewhere, even if it's completely irrational pain, and it's always good to find it and get it out."

Last year Cara also led a thirty-minute Yoga Flow class with Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow's wellness brand.

It's incredible to see a talented actor and creative add another skill to her already extensive repertoire.

Emmanuel said in an interview with Women's Health Magazine:

“What I love about yoga is there’s no pressure to be the best at it. Even if you just lie on your mat for the hour and breathe with intention, you’re doing yoga.

Gordon Sumner, Sting addresses his experience practising yoga in an interview with Ganga White, his yoga instructor and personal friend who is the author of Yoga Beyond Belief: Insights to Awaken and Deepen Your Practice:

"I think, if anything, one of the most exciting things about yoga is that as I get older I seem to get better at certain parts of the practice, which is very inspiring. It makes you want to keep going. If anything, it’s reversing the ageing process. I can do things with my body now that I wouldn’t even have thought of doing when I was an athlete, a teenager. So that keeps me going. This is something I want to keep doing."

You could say that this gives a new meaning to every breath you take! Get it because there are a lot of breathing techniques in yoga. I will let myself out.

She may have started her career as the hair-whipping youngster shaking up the music world with her 2010 hit Whip My Hair, but she is so much more. Smith has come a long way in terms of her creative expression, reinventing herself and releasing a slew of musical projects under Willow, and creating the punk/alternative band The Anxiety.

She is also the co-host of Red Table Talk, a Facebook Watch talk show, alongside her mother and grandmother.

Willow was one of the first celebrities and people in general who inspired me to take up yoga through her inspiring Instagram posts.

In 2020 Willow teamed up with Jahnavi Harrison, a British musician who creates mantra and meditation music. Harrison is from a family of Bhakti-yoga practitioners who practised at Bhaktivedanta Manor. The 19-minute album takes inspiration from the practices of Bhakti-yoga and Kirtan music.
