Meet Imogen: Children's Yoga Teacher
Jul 14, 2026
Hello! My name’s Imogen and I’m an actor. I trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in Peckham, which essentially means I spent 3 years moving my body, playing around and maintaining a childlike wonder for the world. Throughout drama school, I maintained my own yoga practice, which kept me sane amid the long training hours and all the drama happening outside of the training!
In 2024, I began learning Transcendental Meditation and have practiced twice daily ever since. My love of yoga, meditation, and the reason I wanted to train at drama school can all be summed up by the same word: connection. Whether that be connecting the mind, body and soul, connecting to the breath or connecting to an audience - connection and unity are my driving forces. I grew up as a child of two army officers, moving between 4 different countries before the age of 10 and so I learnt very quickly at a young age what it means to engage with different people, different cultures and different environments. And the beauty of connecting to all of them. I’m super excited to bring my love of movement and the joy of play to teaching yoga to children. Could there be anything more rewarding?
What was the best holiday you ever took and why?
Sort of a holiday, sort of not: I volunteered in Peru for a month when I was 17 as part of an affiliated programme with my school. The experience of trekking to Machu Picchu, of sleeping on the shores of a lake under a tropical storm and of eating guinea pig…it was truly an experience like none other!
What was the last thing you read?
Ask me a question about books at your own risk because I am a BIG reader. I recently read The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende, and it’s quickly become one of my favourite books of all time. ‘She felt the gallop of a wild horse in her chest and the anxiety of a rider pushing headlong into the wind.’ Isn’t that delightful?!
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I pride myself on being a vivacious person with a diverse appetite for the world but having said that…I think I’ve eaten cheesy beans on toast every day for the last 7 years. It’s just so simple yet effective!
What’s the worst gift you’ve ever received?
I know the worst gift I’ve ever given…I’m the youngest of 4 and when I was 7, I slowly accumulated (stole) my siblings’ possessions throughout the year, wrapped them up and gave them back to them at Christmas! Whoops!
What song always gets you out on the dance floor?
‘Energy (Stay Far Away)’ by Skepta and WizKid. All summer long, I will be singing that song at the top of my lungs, sunglasses on and a fan in my hand.
What’s your favourite board game?
Articulate. Don’t join my team if you’re not ready to lock in and WIN. It’s that serious.
