Meet Rachel: Children's Yoga Teacher
Apr 16, 2026
Hello! My name is Rachel.
Originally from Nottingham, I am moving to London ready to embrace a new chapter.
Movement has always been a fundamental part of my life. Dancing in particular provided me with so much from the joy of music to an additional family. It is also where I started teaching children, seeing the happiness they felt and learning from them, cemented my desire to continue working alongside them.
Yoga came into my life quite unexpectedly and has since become a very grounding and calming practise. I feel so thankful for the opportunity to hold space for others, children through to adults, to explore how yoga feels for them!
What’s your favourite season?
I’m always so torn between Autumn and Spring. I love the changes they both bring; the beautiful colours of the crunchy fallen leaves and the excitement of it being cosy jumper season that Autumn brings and the hope and joy that daffodils and blossom trees bring, signalling we’ve made it through the cold winter!
How do you enjoy spending your alone time?
I find drawing, trialling all sorts of craft and reading really calming! Although, I am someone who doesn’t read the blurbs of books, so it’s always a surprise when I turn the pages! But ultimately, just being with my legend of a cat, Buzz, with him purring away and cuddles galore really is the best!
If you could be any animal what would you be?
A flamingo! Maybe a little biased as I’ve recently had the opportunity to see them in the wild. But how fabulous. A) I would love to soar through the sky without a fear of heights! B) they migrate so they get to see so many areas of our world C) they are pink from eating shrimp so that’s fun! D) there is a flamingo yoga pose for us to practise!
What is on your bucket list?
New Zealand! The scenery looks spectacular from glaciers and fjords, to the vast fountains and beaches. What an adventure it would be!
What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
My first cuppa of the day in my favourite sunflower mug! The only way to start the day and it has to be Yorkshire, no other tea will cut it!
