Meet Renee: Children's Yoga Teacher

Hello! I’m Renee, and I’ve been teaching children’s yoga for 2 years.

My personal yoga journey began on a Canadian working holiday in 2008, attending a friend’s yoga class once a week. I felt the benefits immediately - improvement in posture, digestion, energy levels and feeling a lot more focused. I continued going to yoga classes for the next 12 to 13 years, until I had an opportunity to do an intensive yoga teacher training in 2021. My intention for doing the course was to learn more about yoga and to improve my personal practice which led me to becoming a children’s yoga teacher.
I was inspired by my two energetic nephews who were very engaged during themed yoga sessions on FaceTime.

Favourite yoga pose:

I love child’s pose - I find it so nurturing, it makes me feel safe, like everything is okay.

Hobbies / life outside of yoga:

  • I absolutely love cooking, and sharing food with friends and family
  • I’m very interested in health and wellbeing and how the mind works
  • And I love music, reading, snowboarding, travel & adventure - and learning about different cultures

What’s an essential part of your daily routine?

Yoga, Meditation, & Gratitude practice

What’s your favourite way to spend a day off?

Meeting up with friends for a daytime adventure exploring different parts of London - and summer picnics in the park

What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?

Meditation. I always feel so positive after
