Meet Simon: Children's Yoga Teacher
Sep 03, 2026
Hello I’m Simon, I particularly enjoy spending time with family and close friends. When I have time to myself I usually read about yoga related subjects or history and archaeology, which I find fascinating. I relax by listening to music and am not adverse to watching the occasional movie. I find a walk in nature a great way to reset and find club football calming to watch.
What is Your Favourite Yoga Pose?
Probably the headstand or the Peacock, which I currently do with my legs tucked up. I did them both the first time I tried them which was a pleasant surprise. But the pose I respect the most is the Garuda or Eagle Pose which is basically a human knot. I first did this pose in Tantric yoga classes and had to be both patient and persistent when releasing into the pose.
What’s your favourite thing about your current job?
It has been varied. I have particularly enjoyed working in the embodied arts. The body is a highly intelligent organism and I have had the opportunities to work with it in yoga, dance and physical theatre. My best experiences are when reaching a point where you are no longer thinking and you are just being moved or danced. In sports terminology it would probably be described as, ‘being in the zone.’ This is a core experience in Yoga.
What is Your Favourite Music
I enjoy most types of music but always go back to Classical Music in all its forms and World Music. I also really like Jazz but of the more current and popular music, I appreciate the individual artists or groups who have a clear and distinct creative vision.
If You Found Out Today Was Your Last Day on Earth, What Would You Do?
This question stood out as it seems to imply you could go to another planet and have more days to live there. But on Earth, I would spend the few hours remaining by having a talk with family and friends, and then prepare myself for departure with a nice lunch, a walk in the park, and then get an early night.
