Meet Gemma: Children's Yoga TeacherJun 26, 2023
My names Gemma and I live in South East London with my partner and 2 energetic boys. Who love parks, camping and Lego.
I've always had an interest in yoga and the benefits not only physically but also mentally.
My mum taught yoga to people who suffered obesity, mental health and social challenges. I have seen firsthand what yoga can do.
When I heard about beam and what they offer, I was excited and wanted to be part of it.
I am looking forward to introducing yoga to children and all the benefits it can offer.
What’s your favourite way to spend a day off?
I love nothing more than trawling the charity shop rails in search of a unique find.
Before having children, I would often be found wearing vintage clothing, even rolling my hair. Charity shops are one of my addictions for sure.
What type of music are you into?
I love such a wide range of music but a few bands that I always come back to include First Aid Kit, The Smiths with a sprinkle of Dolly Parton.. A real mix.
I've been listening to more classical music as i feel it helps calm my children on car journeys. Oh, and a ton of nursery rhymes of course.
Where’s the next place on your travel bucket list?
I am super desperate to visit the Albanian riviera.. It looks amazing.
Some of my previous faves that will get another visit would include Cadiz, Spain and Santa Maria di Castellabate, Italy.
What's one thing that can instantly make your day better?
A GOOD coffee, interaction with other humans, a good song coming onto the radio.
What's your favourite season and why
I love summer, it's a hands down winner. The sun shining makes everyone and everything brighter and more alive. People socialising, no coats and the longer nights.
As I've got older, I've learnt to appreciate all seasons and the gifts they bring but summer still has the winning post for me.
