Yoga and Mindfulness for Nurseries, Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, and SEN Schools

 

Classes and Age Groups

What age groups do you teach?
We work with children from walking age right through to 18 years old.

How many children can take part in a nursery or children’s centre session?
Up to 15 children per 30 minute class, depending on space. A teaching assistant needs to stay in the room.

How many children can take part in a school session?
Up to 30 pupils per 30 minute class, depending on space. A teaching assistant or member of staff must be present.

Do you offer breakfast/lunch/after school clubs?
Yes we do! We can take up to 15 pupils without a teaching assistant.

How long are the sessions?
Most sessions run for 30 minutes to an hour. We can adjust this to fit your timetable.

Do you tailor sessions for each age group or key stage?
Yes. We adapt the class structure, pace, and activities to suit EYFS, KS1, KS2, and KS3–KS4.

Can you teach several classes in a row?
Yes. We can deliver full mornings or full days of back to back sessions.

 
Costs and Bookings

How much are the classes?
Prices start from £42.50 per 30 minute session, with a minimum booking of one hour.

Are you VAT registered?
Yes we are. 

Can we book for a single term?
Yes. We also offer better rates for longer term bookings.

How do we pay?
We accept BACS payments only.

What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 48 hours’ notice to cancel a class. For cancelling a full term, we ask for one month’s notice.

 
Instructor Training, Safety, and Safeguarding

Are your instructors qualified?
Yes. All instructors are fully accredited by Yoga Alliance and trained specifically to teach children and young people.

Do your instructors have DBS checks?
Yes. Every instructor holds an enhanced DBS check.

Do your instructors follow safeguarding procedures?
Yes. We follow our safeguarding policy and your school or nursery’s procedures.

Are the sessions safe for all abilities?
Yes. Movements are simple, slow paced, and easy to follow, making them suitable for mixed abilities.

 
Programme Options

Do you offer mindfulness only sessions?
Yes. We can create a programme focused on calm breathing, focus skills, exam stress, transitions, self esteem, or general wellbeing.

Do you offer themed workshops?
Yes. Popular themes include anti bullying, sport, healthy living, confidence, and wellbeing days.

Do you offer one off workshops?
Yes. We can run one off sessions or full enrichment days.

Do you run sessions during half term or school holidays?
Yes. This can work well for holiday clubs or enrichment weeks.

Do you offer online classes?
Yes. Contact us to check formats and availability.

 
Suitability and Inclusion

Are your classes suitable for children with SEN?
Yes. All sessions are fully inclusive and designed with clear structure, gentle movement, and simple instructions.

Do you offer classes for SEN schools?
Yes. We run programmes for SEN settings and adapt everything to suit sensory needs, communication styles, and the pace of the group.

Can you adapt sessions for children with physical or learning needs?
Yes. We adjust movement, pace, instructions, and activities to fit each group.

Do you provide quiet or low stimulus sessions?
Yes. We can offer calmer, slower sessions designed for sensory comfort.

 

Funding and School Support

Can we use Pupil Premium to fund the classes?
Yes. Many schools do. You can check the government guidance to confirm for your setting.

Do sessions support behaviour or wellbeing aims?
Yes. Classes help with self regulation, confidence, emotional balance, and smoother transitions.

Can your programme support PE or PSHE?
Yes. Sessions link well to PE, PSHE, mental wellbeing requirements, and whole school values.

Can you provide feedback for our records?
Yes. We can share simple attendance notes and general progress updates if needed.

 
Practical Requirements

What space do you need?
A clear and safe area such as a hall, studio, or classroom with furniture moved aside.

Do we need mats or props?
No. Though it would be ideal if you had mats however we can run sessions without mats if space is limited.

Do staff need to stay in the room?
Yes. A staff member must be present at all times in a nursery or in a school with more than 15 children or young people.

 
Secondary Schools and Teens

Do you work with teenagers?
Yes. We run supportive yoga and mindfulness sessions for KS3 and KS4.

Do you offer boys only sessions?
Yes. These classes focus on strength, balance, flexibility, and general confidence. They work well alongside sports programmes.

 
General Operations

Do you run all year round?
Yes. We run throughout the year except for bank holidays.

Can we try a class first?
Yes. Please contact us to check availability.

How soon can we start?
Most schools begin within one to three weeks depending on the schedule.

About BEAM ACADEMY

What is BEAM ACADEMY?
BEAM ACADEMY provides children's and teen yoga and mindfulness teacher training, live workshops, school and nursery classes, and ongoing support through our online community. We help you build confident skills you can use in education, community settings, and family environments.

Where are you based?
We are based in London, UK, and support trainees across the UK and overseas through online and in-person learning.

What does BEAM ACADEMY offer?
We offer accredited yoga and mindfulness teacher training courses, practical workshops, live children's classes in education settings, and ongoing support with resources, lesson plans, and a community hub.

What age groups do you specialise in?
Our training covers babies, toddlers, early years, primary, teens, and young people with SEN.

 
Before You Book

Can I speak to someone before I book?
Yes. You can book a call with one of our trainers to ask questions and check which course suits your goals.

Do I need any experience before joining?
For yoga based courses, we ask that you have a steady personal yoga practice. For mindfulness or breathing workshops, no prior experience is required.

Do I need to complete a pre requisite course first?
No. You can start with any of our children’s courses. For yoga specific courses, we ask that you feel confident with your own practice first.

Can beginners join?
Yes. Our courses support trainees with different levels of experience. If you have a medical condition or are pregnant, please seek advice from your doctor and let us know before joining.

Can I do the training while pregnant?
Possibly. It depends on your doctor’s guidance, the course you choose, and your due date. Please speak to us before enrolling so we can advise you.

 
Course Format and Delivery

Are the online teacher training courses live?
Yes. All online training is delivered live on Zoom with real time interaction and support.

Where do you run the training?
We run live online courses and in person training days across selected UK locations. Each course page lists the format and venue.

Is online yoga teacher training recognised?
Yes. Yoga Alliance recognises live online training. You complete the same hours and receive the same accreditation as in person training.

How often do you run trainings?
Most courses run once or twice a year.

How many hours do I need to complete?
Each course lists the required hours. Programmes range from short workshops to full 40 hour or 50 hour qualifications.

 
Accreditation and Certification

What accreditation will I receive?
All yoga teacher training courses are accredited by Yoga Alliance. You receive your certificate when you complete the hours, attendance, and assignments.

Do certificates expire?
No. Your certificate does not expire. You can choose to continue your learning through further training if you wish.

Can I fail the course?
There are no written exams. You are assessed on attendance, participation, assignments, and teaching practice. Trainers support you throughout.

Choosing the Right Course

Which teacher training should I choose?
It depends on who you want to teach.
• Early Years Yoga works with babies to age 5
• Children's Yoga works with walking age to 12
• Teen Yoga works with 12 to 18
• SEN Yoga works with children with diverse needs
• Mindfulness works with all age groups
• Workshops focus on breathing, visualisation, EFT and more

Yes. We're a phone call/email or zoom call away! You can also join our community group to connect with other teachers.

Do you provide teaching resources?
Yes. You receive class plans, scripts, and teaching tools depending on the course you choose.

Can I use the training in schools and nurseries?
Yes. All qualifications are suitable for education settings, community groups, and family sessions.

 
General Questions

Can I teach straight after completing the course?
Yes. Once you complete your hours and receive your certificate, you can start teaching.

Is the course taught in English?
Yes. All courses are delivered in English.

How soon can I join a course?
Most trainees join the next available intake. Courses run throughout the year.
