Meet Vanessa: Senior Yoga Teacher and Trainer

classes for children meet our teachers Dec 21, 2020
children's yoga teacher training course

Hello! I’m Vanessa. I’ve been teaching children’s Yoga since 2013. After starting my yoga teacher journey with children I completed my 200 hours adult teacher training in 2016 and have continued to learn more and more about yoga, wellness and other ways to help people manage the challenges of daily life.

I’m a bit of a jack of all trades, having originally studied in Fine Art. I've worked in the service industry and countless other odd jobs. I’m still a practicing artist, but now I also enjoy practicing and teaching Yoga. Becoming a teacher trainer in 2020 was a big step. I love being able to use my years of teaching practice to inform others and start them on their teaching journey. Each time I teach on a training course I learn something new!

1. What is Your Favourite Pose?

It’s hard to choose, but I’ve picked Crow pose as my favourite. I love this pose because it was probably the first time, since I began practicing consistently, that I saw real solid results in my practice and realised I was getting stronger! I also like teaching this pose to kids as it's fairly achievable and never fails to impress them and pique their interest.

2. What is your favourite thing about your career?

I actually really like that my career has been pretty all over the place and untraditional. I’ve hardly ever had a regular 9 - 5 job, it’s not always been easy and straight forward, but I enjoy the creativity, freedom and variety of experiences that my equally varied career has given me.

3. What type of music are you into?

I love all kinds of music. I truly believe that music is the magic of life! it might sound corny, but I think it's something that brings everyone together. Some of my favourite genres of music are electronic, dance, folk, hip-hop and anything experimental that blurs those genres.

4. Three things you will always find in my fridge.

1. Oat Milk
2. Gin
3. Kimchee
(A Weird combo)
