Teachers are enhanced DBS checked, safeguarding & first aid trained.

3. ENJOY THE YOGA CLASSES!

All we need is enough space to sit in a circle or in rows. We can also work alongside themes at your School.

GROWTH

Promoting a growth mindset in teens gives them a sense of self-confidence and self-determination, it helps them overcome their fears of trying new things or failing. Our classes promote self-motivation and self-accountability. This is something we teach in our classes and encourage team work.

BODY CHANGES
DEVELOP

Teenagers go through a rapid phase of body changes, effecting their mood and physical appearance. They become conscious of smells, their skin and an unsubconscious of what they look like to others. Our yoga classes help teens learn to love and understand their body.

ANXIETY & STRESS
CONTROL

There are many internal and external influences that can create anxiety and stress in teenagers. This can come from peers, exam preparations, the social 'norm', family and school. We help teens regulate their emotions through breathing and visualisation techniques.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

KEEPING UP WITH THE CHANGES IN THE HUMAN BODY

The teenage years.  We've all been there and we all had to deal with the multitude of changes that go with it. Hormonal imbalances as the body starts to develop and mature.  Behaviour and emotional turbulence that can often lead to damaging mental health issues  and physical self awareness that can manifest itself as body dysmorphia and eating disorders. These are just some of the challenges teenagers can face. In today's world were social media is a main stay of a child's progress into their teenage years the influences it can have on self appreciation and well being must not be ignored.  

BEAM ACADEMY  appreciates the sensitivity around this subject and from our experience yoga and mindfulness can help ease some of these struggles. Yoga at it's core has many undeniable benefits, it connects us to our body. It helps teens learn how to enjoy and love their body too. It's important to emphasise that beauty comes from within and that it's not superficial.  In fact our programme helps teen’s improve their focus and memory retention, boosts self-esteem, academic performance, classroom behaviour and reduces anxiety and stress. We believe self-discovery is key to the well-being and mental health of teens.
